- Jazz-rock trombonist and tuba player David "Dave" Bargeron was born in Athol, Massachusetts. He became known as a member of Blood, Sweat & Tears. The group had the U.S. No. 2 hit "Spinning Wheel" and the No. 12 hit "You've Made Me So Very Happy" in 1969. Their second album, "Blood, Sweat & Tears", reached No. 1 in the U.S. in 1968.
