- Hole performed at the Reading Festival in England. It was their first concert following two tragic events: the suicide of Kurt Cobain, husband of frontwoman Courtney Love, in April and the death of bassist Kristen Pfaff from a heroin overdose in June. Pfaff was replaced by Melissa Auf der Maur.
