- On the second day of the Woodstock festival, performances included Santana, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane; Carlos Santana performed under the influence of mescaline.
- On Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, New York, where the Woodstock festival had just ended, cleanup operations began. Tons of rubbish and debris were bulldozed into a pit and burned. The total cleanup cost reached $100,000.
