Jethro Tull reached No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 with their sixth studio album, A Passion Play. It was their second album to top the US chart. The album also reached No. 1 in Canada, while reaching No. 16 in the UK. Because of high British taxes, the album was recorded at Château d'Hérouville studio in France on the recommendation of their managers and accountants.
