Description

The Rolling Stones began their A Bigger Bang tour with a concert at Fenway Park in Boston. They had previously played a warm-up concert at a theater in Toronto on August 10. The tour lasted more than two years and grossed more than $558 million from 144 concerts, setting a record that was later surpassed by U2's 360° Tour, which ended in 2011.

    NASA's Mars InSight mission named a small rock on Mars after The Rolling Stones. The golf-ball-sized rock rolled approximately three feet during the probe's landing in November 2018 as a result of the force of its thrusters. Mick Jagger was delighted and joked that he would like to bring it back and display it on the band's mantelpiece.

The album reached No. 1 in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, France, New Zealand and the U.S.
