Description

In an interview with AARP Magazine, Linda Ronstadt revealed that she had Parkinson's disease, which had ended her singing career in 2009 and made her unable to sing. She used walking sticks when walking on uneven terrain and travelled with a wheelchair.

    Linda Ronstadt performed as Mabel in an open-air production of Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta “The Pirates of Penzance” as part of the New York Shakespeare Festival at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park, New York City. The production later moved to Broadway, where it premiered in January 1981. Ronstadt reprised the role in the 1983 film adaptation and received a Tony Award nomination and a Golden Globe nomination for the film.
