Jumpin' Gene Simmons, American rockabilly singer and songwriter, died after a long illness at the age of 69. He became known especially for his version of the song "Haunted House", which reached No. 11 in the US in 1964. KISS bassist Gene Simmons, born Chaim Witz, chose his stage name in his honor.
