Description

Oasis announced two additional concerts at Wembley Stadium in London due to “unprecedented demand” for tickets for their reunion tour. The band said all ticketing platforms had struggled to cope with the demand. In the same statement, Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher and the other members publicly distanced the band from Ticketmaster's decision to use dynamic pricing during the sale. This led to an angry reaction from fans on social media.

    Noel Gallagher left Oasis after a series of conflicts with his brother Liam and announced that he could no longer work with him. As the band’s lead guitarist and main songwriter, he had recently been involved in a number of arguments with Liam; he said that the brothers barely spoke, did not travel together, and only saw each other onstage. Oasis were due to perform at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, but their appearance was canceled at the last minute following an internal conflict within the band. Their departure brought the band’s existence to an end.

The album reached No. 1 in sixteen countries around the world, although it later received mixed reactions and was criticized as overly long and derivative. Britpop was beginning to lose popularity. The album cover was photographed at Stocks House in Hertfordshire, the former home of Victor Lownes, head of Playboy Clubs in the UK.
