American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Roy Gaines died at the age of 83, one day before his 84th birthday. As a backing musician he worked with the Everly Brothers, The Supremes, Bobby Darin, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight, among others. He co-wrote “No Use Crying,” recorded by George Jones and Ray Charles.
