Bon Jovi released their eighth studio album, “Bounce,” through Island Records. The album reached the Top 10 in ten countries, peaked at No. 2 in both the UK and U.S., and sold more than two million copies.
A federal court denied DownloadCard's request for a preliminary injunction in its dispute with Universal Music Group concerning Bon Jovi's album Bounce.
Bon Jovi reached No. 1 on the UK album chart for the first time with “New Jersey”. The band’s fourth album also topped the charts in the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, and Switzerland. It produced five Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest number of Top 10 hits at the time for a hard rock album; “Bad Medicine” and “I’ll Be There for You” reached No. 1.
Bon Jovi released their third studio album, Slippery When Wet, which reached No. 1 on the US chart. The album contained two US No. 1 singles, “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin' on a Prayer,” and later went twelve-times platinum.
