Description

Madonna altered the lyrics of "I Love New York" during a concert at Madison Square Garden to make a confrontational reference to Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Los Angeles retailer LA Triumph had been using the name "Material Girl" for clothing and had registered it as a trademark in 1997. The ruling allowed the trademark infringement dispute to continue.
