- The family of Manuela Gomez Ruiz formally requested the dismissal of their lawsuit against Marian Medical Center in Santa Monica. They claimed that 73-year-old Ruiz had been denied critical care after suffering a heart attack on the same day that Michael Jackson was brought to the hospital with flu-like symptoms during his 2005 trial on child abuse allegations. The family had originally sued Jackson, but a judge removed him from the lawsuit in April.
