- Neil Young headlined the first Bridge School Benefit concert in support of a school for children with speech and physical disabilities. Neil and Pegi Young had founded the school for their son Ben, who was born with cerebral palsy. Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Tom Petty, and the reunited Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young also took part in the acoustic concert. The event subsequently became an annual tradition.
