- Cuban-Jamaican ska and reggae trombonist Rico Rodriguez died at the age of 80. He recorded with numerous musicians, including Karl Pitterson, Prince Buster and Lloyd “Matador” Daley. He was one of the earliest and most influential ska performers and had been performing and recording in Britain since the early 1960s, including with The Specials, Jools Holland and Paul Young.
