Funeral events
- Brian Epstein's funeral was held in Liverpool. The Beatles did not attend because they wanted to give his family privacy and prevent the media and fans from being drawn to the funeral. They later attended a memorial service at New London Synagogue in St John's Wood.
- Aretha Franklin's funeral was held at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit. Performers included Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Ronald Isley, Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill, Fantasia and Yolanda Adams.
