- Welsh-born rapper, singer, songwriter and producer Eric Martin, also known as Me One or MC Eric, was born in Cardiff. He became known as a member of the Belgian electronic project Technotronic. The group had the UK number 2 single “Pump Up the Jam” in 1989, and at the beginning of 1990 the song reached number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
